Think of solar energy systems as the Sun’s gift that keeps on giving. Solar panels will provide energy for many years after they are installed.
The panels should last longer than a full 28-year solar cycle, machzor gadol, a time-span similar to most solar panel's warranties. Most solar panels have been installed during the last five years, and we can expect these panels to last for decades.
Just as planting new gardens brings people together, solar installations build community and demonstrate how generations can show care for future generations.
Between the incentives available for synagogues to install solar panels, the rise in energy costs, and panel costs that have decreased more than 50% over the past five years, it’s a good moment for synagogues to switch to solar energy.
